Mission of the Library

The mission of the Library is to provide access to scholary information and to collect scientific literature in accordance with the research programs of the FZ Dresden-Rossendorf(FZD). Collection development has been effective since 1956, so that literature (journals, monographs, research reports etc.) is available since this time. Special collections include nuclear physics, nuclear technology including reactor physics. Most of the journals are available as electronic fulltext journals. All publications of the FZD and its predecessor organisation are part of the library holdings.

Provision of Reference and Fact Databases, support for searching in databases
Provision of multidisciplinary, reviewed information about free available databases in the internet
Provision of the Nationwide Licences of the DFG
Expert advice and assistance in writing your publication metadata into FZD-Publication database as well as to print out reference lists
Expert advice and assistance to publish in the FZD serial, in journals and in Open Access
Offer a modern online catalogue with high quality metadata in German and English language
Provision of powerful IT, copy and scan machines in the library rooms
Workshops and seminarsfor searching in extern and intern databases
Expert advice and procurement of print and binding services
Management of the Personnel archive and the FZD Document archive
Management of Sächsischer Kunstfonds for borrowed projects
Room management for Auditorium, IT-Training class room and seminar room in building 6
