Dresden ENLITE 09
Dresden Exchange oN Laser-plasma Interaction ThEory 09

April 1st - 5th 2009

FZD

Dresden ENLITE 09 is the first international workshop focusing on Laser-Plasma-Interaction Theory in Dresden. It is intended to strengthen the mutual exchange on laser-plasma simulation and analytic theory between the Forschungszentrum Dresden-Rossendorf (FZD) headed by Prof. R. Sauerbrey and international groups working in the field of laser-plasma theory.

The conference is organized by the Institute for Radiation Physics headed by Prof. T.E. Cowan which is part of the Forschungszentrum Dresden-Rossendorf e.V. (FZD). It hosts the Laser-Particle Acceleration Group headed by PD Dr. U Schramm.

In 2008 The Laser-Particle Acceleration Group has put in operation the new, 150 TW, 25 fs High-Power Laser DRACO located close to the High-Brilliance Electron Accelerator ELBE to pursue laser-driven ion and electron acceleration and generation of brilliant x-ray beams.

To accompany the experimental program on laser-plasma interaction it is intended to increase the collaboration with theoreticians working in this field by inviting leading scientists in this field to Dresden.

Topics of the workshop include:

  • Laser-Ion Acceleration
  • Laser-Electron-Acceleration
  • Advanced Radiation Sources
  • Fundamental Physics with Intense Beams
  • Relativistic Optics
